Michael Joseph Savage Tribute

The Auckland Labour History Group is holding a tribute to Michael Joseph Savage as part of the Auckland City Heritage Festival. He is regarded as the greatest antipodean Prime Minster of the 20th century, and this will take place at Forde's Front Bench, Anzac Ave,  Auckland on 20 September from 11 am until 1 pm.

Those attending are encouraged to contribute.   Please contact the Auckland Labour History Group if you wish to be included in the contributions. The event will be a mixed media event including PowerPoint, music, and rare film showing Savage laying the foundations of both the welfare state and an independent foreign policy.

The presentation also includes a tribute to other labour leaders who were important in the events that shaped New Zealand between 1908 and 1940.

The cover charge is $10, which includes a bowl of Forde’s famous Irish Stew.
